(Example: 6-Seat, VR 5D ride)
Movies last approximately 3-5 minutes. Allowing time for loading and unloading customers, a movie can be played every 10 minutes, or 6 times per hour. 6 seats x 6 movies = 36 seats per hour. An average of $7 per ride x 36 seats per hour = $252 income per hour. $252 per hour x *8 hours = $ 2,016 per day (using 8 hour days for conservative figures) $ 2,016 x 260 days (excluding Mondays and Tuesdays) per year = $524,160 potential income per year.
*Figures based on potential income and not based on actual figures. Above scenario based on Motion Thrill Ride at mall or similar setting. Mall hours would be much more than 8-hour per day, thus more income, but we also realize all seats won’t be full during the entire 8-hours, so we use 8 hours as an average. Additionally, we left out Monday and Tuesday, to make for more conservative figures. Weekends, will also be much busier, with higher ticket price than weekdays, (Wed, Thurs, Fri) but we opted for a more conservative income forecast.
